A Fee Split function has been enabled for customers using Token.io's license who also use Wise for Account Information Services (AIS). This functionality allows you to show fees as separate DEBIT transactions with an attached reference to the original transaction. Fees represented this way won't be embedded in the original transaction amount.
For example, transactions will now be displayed as:
the value of the transaction itself
the fee associated with the transaction, e.g., a conversion fee
This may be a breaking change for customers, as it will affect transaction ids.
Prior to the change, a transaction would be expressed as:
- id 00012 for £10.00 with description "something" on date 1 Nov 2023
After the change, the transaction will be expressed as:
id 00012 for £9.50 with description "something" on date 1 Nov 2023
id 00012.FEE for £0.50 with description "Wise Payments Fee for something" on date 1 Nov 2023
This will also apply to historical data for older transactions.
This change will improve the user experience for Wise customers using AIS tools to capture their transactions and charges. For example, it may be useful for customers to have conversion fees listed separately from the amount converted.
Please see Wise - the clever new way to send money abroad for more information.
This change affects customers who use Token.io's licence for AIS, and applies to the following bank ids:
ob-wise-eeaob-transferwise
As a TPP using ob-wise-eea and ob-transferwise bank ids, you'll need to ensure that your implementation can handle the split transactions from Wise, with separate ids for the transaction value and associated fees.
This change will become effective from 28th February 2024.
